My Father Died Today

Today about 11:00 AM CST my father had a massive heart attack and died. My mother and he were talking about what to have for lunch. He went into the laundry room to put some clothes in, and my mother heard him fall hard. His head made a hole in the drywall. He was dead before he hit the floor.

Please pray for my mother, she was married to my father for 46 years. He was her life, and I do not know how she will deal with this. She dealt well with his stroke 8 years ago. But this is different, this is loss, this is saying good bye, forever. Pray that my mother can have a clear enough mind to determine what she would like to do from here on.

Also pray for my whole family. They were together for Christmas as always. This time, I could not make it. I had to work. I did not get to see him, or say good bye to him. That will always be a huge regret for me. Not fighting harder to go and see him. At least my last words to him are always, "I love you."

Oh, Nate. I'm so sorry. Will be praying. What Erin said.

Jesus, please hold Nate and his family in your hands. Comfort them, give them courage and strength during this time. Help them in their grief and be near them. I pray especially for Nate's mother, strengthen her and hold her close. Give her peace.
Amen.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

The Lord is my shepherd, I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

My thoughts are with you all.

Nate ~ I am so sorry to hear of this loss in your family. Of course, I will pray for your mother, you and you're entire family as you go through this grief.

I hope you'll allow me to say that I find comfort in the fact that you always ended with I Love You.

Words just arent' enough....

Erin, Heather, Mike, Linda, Michelle, Che', Dena, Barry, and Paul,

Thank you very much. The prayers can be felt very clearly. The pain and greif is definately there. But I have had a great opportunity to reunite with my immediate family. Right now my mother and my two brothers and two sisters are all together without any spouses or kids. This has not happened for us for 25 years. It is wonderful to be together like this and be able to remember our husband and father. There have been some tears, but more laughter than anything else. The laughter is how I know the prayers are there.

The love and support that I always receive from this group is invaluable to me. You are the members of MY church. And you Do church so well. Thank You. I will keep you updated.

My dad passed away on december 30th 2007. He died from complications of surgery and it was a sudden shock to us all. Tomorrow at 0310am marks 3months from the day my father passed away. I really miss him deeply, and although some days your life goes on, other days it hits you hard. My parents were married for 45years. I feel for you nate, as i feel for myself and family.
