Fluidity and Pride

This is something that I have thought about a lot lately. Many things in life are fluid. Most notably to me, my bank account. It seems no matter how much I pour in, it all just keeps flowing back out again, in a state of constant flux and ever changing.

Our faith is like that. Many do not realize that, and that causes a lot of problems. Think back to the time you first embarked on the journey of faith. Do you believe the exact same thing now as you did then? Or, have you learned a lot and changed your views on some things? When were you right? Or, better yet, when were you wrong? So, whether you were right or were wrong about things in your beliefs, were you ever in danger of losing your salvation in the search of those truths?

That is the crux of it there. Many do not see it that way. In their pride, in showing how much they have achieved for God, trying to show how much they know, try putting their beliefs onto others. Then if those others do not take their beliefs, they condemn them. Saying that they are in danger of going to hell if they do not believe what they believe. Crap, all of that is crap.

You were never in danger of losing your salvation. You were doing what God asks us to do. Seek him with all of our strength, soul, mind, and heart. You have to be able to grow. No living tree is ever the same year to year. Only dead trees remain the same. Oh wait, they rot away. Same as those who stay the same in Christ, they are dead and rotting away. No one LIVING in Christ is the same year to year. Not if we hide his word in our hearts. It will change us whether we will it or not. So, to this end, we are all right, or all wrong, every one of us. Because none of us believe exactly the same no matter what. Are we all but one of us going to be kept out of the kingdom. Or is God smart enough to make a system that allows any of those that seek him to enter? Rhetorical question, but necessary that it be ask.

I, for one, hope He was gracious enough to design a system with a very lenient curve.

All the wisdom of man is the foolishness of God LOL

As one who shoots a LOT of thoughts of my own out there, I sometimes just think we're all full of a lot of shibeanits.
I invented that word today although I have been thinking about it for quite some time. :-)
It's a word for the three things we normally say
We're often
full of it
full of beans or
full of shit. :-)
Shibeanits.

1 Corinthians 1:18

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written,
"I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE."
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God.
But by "His doing" you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
so that, just as it is written,

"LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD."

Accepting Jesus Christ as Truth and The Way is eternal Life. All other Truths, which are indeed Truth, stem from that. I believe that the Spirit of Truth leads us into all truth, and that as we grow we see with more clarity those truths He reveals. So, if we are growing in Him one day, here or there, everything will line up. But, if we are just making conjectures or using our carnal minds to come up with beliefs, God says that our carnal wisdom is sensual and devilish, so all that is not only fruitless but destructive will do nothing in helping our growth, and may even hinder it. So, staying in tuned with His Spirit, desiring and asking for His mind, heart, and will on matters can only bring more and more true light into us.

Hey Michelle, Check out a book called, "So you don't want to go to church anymore." No it will not try to talk you to going back to church. It si exactly the opposite. but shows some things that God may be trying to do with you. It nails what happened to me four years ago pretty well.

As one who has been on the receiving end of this sort of thing, I wholeheartedly agree, Nate.

i feel very, very good reading this. i am very happy! :)

this concept is precisely one of the things i was criticized for last year. in fact, i believe a reference was made to my "almost fluid personality and set of beliefs."

i was worried because i had never heard anyone else speak of it, and yet i felt it to be of the spirit. reading what you wrote was very encouraging.

especially the part where you put vowels and consonants together and then separated them in a meaningful way using spaces and punctuation.

remember that?

that was cool.

Yes Jon, fluidity is the deal. How else can one grow without changing their belief structure with each new truth revealed? It is how we deal with them that is the key. It also has to come with the understanding that people will not be able to see something in God's word until God allows them to. Even though you explain exactly what they need.
